We’re hiring: Gym Instructor
Work for us

📍 Based at Ardrossan Community Sports Hub Gym
đź•’ 30 hours per week (flexible shifts across 7 days)
đź’· Pay in line with national minimum wage

About the role
Ardrossan Community Sports Hub Gym is on the lookout for a new Gym Instructor to join our small, energetic and friendly team. This is a hands-on, practical role for someone who wants to be right in the mix — supporting members, leading classes, and helping keep the gym running smoothly day to day.

Working 30 hours a week, you’ll cover a mix of early, late and weekend shifts on a rota basis (we’re open 6am–9pm most days, but don’t worry — we’re not asking you to open and close on the same day). Flexibility is key, and we’ll always try to keep things fair.

What you’ll be doing
✅ Leading fitness classes — circuits, weights, functional fitness, cardio-based sessions
âś… Offering gym inductions and putting together training programmes for members
âś… Supervising the gym floor, helping members with their workouts
✅ Pitching in with the day-to-day — that includes cleaning, phone calls to members, general maintenance and making sure the space is safe and welcoming

What we’re looking for
You must hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (that’s non-negotiable)

You might be newly qualified — that’s totally fine. Experience is a bonus, not a deal-breaker

Someone comfortable chatting to members and creating a welcoming, supportive atmosphere

A team player who’s happy to muck in, but also confident leading sessions solo

What’s the gym like?
It’s a big, well-equipped space — think warehouse-style layout, half kitted out with machines and weights, the other half set up for classes. When classes are on, it still feels inclusive and community-driven — no “them vs us” vibes here. The team is small, tight-knit, and full of personality. There’s always someone up for a laugh, but we know how to switch into pro mode when needed.

We invest in our people too. Staff have gone on to complete training in boxing, Hyrox, kettlebells, their Level 3 PT Course and more — so if there’s something you want to explore, we’ll try to back you.

How to apply
We’re keeping it simple. We’ve got a short form with a few questions below and you’ll be asked to upload a CV.

That’s it. No long cover letter, no endless form-filling. Just be yourself.

Anything else?
If you’ve got any questions before applying, feel free to reach out — we’d love to hear from you. You can get in touch with our team by phoning us, visiting the gym, or head over to our contact page to send us a note.

Closing Date 15th June 2025.
