Goatfell Hike
Members Day out 2024

It’s on again, we’re going to Goatfell.

Following a great time going up this with the team before we’re doing it again. It’s always popular, we have great fun and it’s a great view from the top!

Join in this year.

What you need to know:

📅 Saturday 18th May 2024
📍 Meet at Ardrossan Ferry Terminal 6:30am
📍 Ferry departs Ardrossan at 7am

Everyone is responsible for getting their own ferry ticket. Either buy your ticket in advance or get it in the morning.

Walk from the ferry terminal, to the summit of Goat Fell, and back again (5-7 hours walking, depending on speed of group and number of rest breaks taken).

Return ferry departs Brodick at 4:20pm – plenty of time for a few at the bottom 🍺

Our walk will have us back to the ferry terminal with plenty of time to spare, so no worries about missing the last boat.

Ideally we would all walk together, but depending on the group size, we may split into 2 smaller groups.

Goat Fell is a great hill but it is no pushover. Be prepared to push yourself physically and mentally.

You do not have to be super fit to achieve this, but you certainly can’t be really out of shape either. Some fitness is required.

Strong willpower and a determined mindset can make up for a slight shortfall in fitness levels.

No one gets left behind.

Things to bring:
1. Water, lunch snacks.
2. Hat, gloves and sunscreen.
3. Waterproof jacket and trousers.
4. Appropriate footwear (no Dr. Martens boots like last year)

Click ‘Going’ to view the Facebook event if you want to join us.

On the Facebook event we can get an idea of numbers, you can see who else is joining in and you can ask any questions too

I can’t promise you the great weather like we got last year ☀️ but I can promise you a memorable day out.

Everyone is responsible for their own safety whilst out on the hills.

Our Intermediate club is looking to take those who are consistently running 5km without stopping and helping them improve.
